Filipino-American philanthropist and one of president Rodrigo Duterte main critic Loida Nicolas-Lewis’s back accounts have been frozen by the US government after being implicated in the conspiracy to topple Philippines government headed by president Duterte.
According to report by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Loida has been financing multiple groups in Philippines to cause political unrest and destabilization of the current government headed by Mr. Duterte.
Efforts to reach her for comment regarding this issue has not been successful.
Earlier, Malacañang warned of a “massive destabilization” plot from groups allegedly wanting to remove Duterte from presidency, in time for the 46th anniversary of Martial Law under the Marcos regime.
President Duterte earlier claimed that there is a unified effort by certain groups, members of the Liberal Party, communist rebels, and other critics like Senator Antonio Trillanes to topple him from the presidency by October.
On Saturday, Loida Lewis younger sister joined mass dedicated for senator Trillanes outside the Senate compound in Pasay City to show solidarity with Duterte’s critics.
